The Fire Tetrahedron
Combustion requires four elements:
1. Fuel
A combustible material i.e. solid, liquid, or gas that can burn.
2. Heat
The energy source that ignites the fuel and keeps it warm enough to release vapors.
3. Oxygen
Oxygen in the air reacts with the heated fuel vapors to sustain combustion.
4. Chemical Chain Reaction
The self-sustaining exothermic reaction that links the other three elements together once the fire starts.
Removing any element extinguishes the fire.
Drag an extinguisher to kill the fire.
